Kirsten Jones is the gallery owner and works here in the studio throughout the year. During the exhibitions she shows her new paintings and a selection of limited edition prints. In addition, Barn Acre Gallery shows work by 50 or so invited artists who are chosen for their exciting, lively ideas and beautiful, often quirky creations. Some are full time professionals and others are just starting their career, which always results in a fantastic show! If you would like to visit Kirsten in the studio outside of exhibition times please call 0118 9401137. Artists who are interested in exhibiting, please contact us.

Barn Acre Gallery is a converted barn, set in three acres of beautiful gardens on the river in Wargrave. In May we will have have four additional gallery spaces: The Potting Shed, Tractor Shed and Greenhouse Galleries, plus The Long Gallery and Café. Twice a year the gallery opens its doors to the public with a collection of exciting art and jewellery. The first show is in May/June when we open for three weeks in conjunction with Oxfordshire Artweeks open studios. The dates for 2009 are Sat 2nd May to Mon 25TH May 2009. To join the mailing list please contact us.

The second show is around December and at this time the gallery becomes a warm creative haven from the chill, with a wood burning stove, and a one-stop shop for the perfect, unique Christmas present or centre piece for your home.

Visitors are very welcome to wander around the garden, which is always full of birds. In addition to swans, egyptian geese, moorhens and doves, Kirsten and Richard keep "comedy chickens" - unusual breeds which they hatch from eggs. Eric and Derek were the first to arrive, and Elvis and Ernie are still showing off their fabulous hairstyle. Latest additions carry on our rock star theme- Gary (because he's sort of glittery), Barry (who is White, obviously) and Dave (yeah, we couldn't think of a pop star called dave either, but the name was perfect and am sure it will come to us!).

The chickens are often in the gallery and seem to be one of our most popular exhibits! If you bring children to the gallery remember to bring grapes, carrots, or dandelion leaves for Rose Tyler- the spherical guinea pig who will eat (her own body weight) out of your hand. Her partner "the doctor" is currently time travelling so wont be available for visits for a few centuries.
