Distilled, organic images of seed heads and
skeletal plant forms embellish faded, sun-bleached surfaces.
Their silhouettes weave up walls of eroded and decaying paper,
creating beautiful ribbons of colour. Segments of collage
containing fragments of antique vintage paper, words from
typed journal extracts and foreign postage stamps depicting
insects and butterflies, are embedded into the surface which
is almost enamel-like in quality. The glazed, worn surfaces
of ivory, vintage blues and corals, some of which appear cracked
with age, are polished to reveal faded typography and the
use of hand-carved lino blocks create elusive imprints of
moths and butterflies.
