Natural forms such as lobsters, eggs, oysters and fish regularly feature in Kirsten’s paintings along with treasures from market stalls, antique shops and beaches. The found objects and antiques evoke an imagined history, which she captures by painting over selected fragments of paper, text from dictionaries, maps and stamps.
